The Engineering Development Program: Fostering the Next Generation Together.
Start your Xerox career right now
The Engineering Development Program (EDP) will give you the chance to see, firsthand, our groundbreaking ideas and innovative solutions. These are the product of our environment, our creative thinking and the work we do as a team. As we develop our next generation of leaders, the EDP will help raise the level of your skills and of Xerox.
About the Program:
The EDP is designed to bring new hires up to speed quickly through a supportive, informative, and fun series of orientation events, technical training sessions, customer interactions, and social events. The program is structured like this:
New Hire Orientation Week
A week-long introduction to Xerox on the Webster campus in Rochester, New York. You’ll enjoy presentations from senior executives, tours of various facilities, and social events designed to help foster a sense of community.
Xerox Core Technology Series
A series of 2-hour weekly training sessions led by Xerox technical subject matter experts covering fundamental concepts of Xerography, Color Science, Image Quality, Solid Ink, and more. Held in Webster, New York, the series is available in other locations via web conferencing and web casting.
The Service Experience
Offered by the Xerox Services organization, this customized component of the EDP gives you first-hand customer interaction as you ride along on customer calls with Customer Service Engineers and Analysts. You’ll gain a unique understanding of what takes place in the field.
From past attendees:
"It was great learning about the company as a whole. The stories about our history should remain an essential part of the EDP. It truly connected us to the beginnings of Xerox, and gave us all a sense of pride."
"Not only would I recommend the EDP program to other new hires, I would also recommend it to any individual at Xerox who is interested in a high-level view of the products and services that are a part of our line of business, and who wants to share the vision for the company's direction."
"The experience was invaluable and left me energized and excited about working at Xerox. The events were very well planned, and the Erie Canal boat tour and dinner during the 1-week EDP training was fun – a great opportunity to get to know other new hires."
Who says work has to be all work?
In a Xerox internship or co-op program, you'll work with fun, talented and motivated professionals all day. In the evenings and on weekends, you'll have opportunities to do even more. Some of our outings are planned and some are spontaneous, but all of them will help you get to know your co-workers, Xerox, and even yourself better.
